The markets and health spa
Bagnere de Bigorre and Aquensis.

On Saturdays we will be soaking up the French atmosphere and visiting the local markets located in the nearby town of Bagnere de Bigorre, then spending the afternoon in a health spa.

The markets at Bagnere de Bigorre are bustling with local farmers and traders, and stalls rich with local produce and crafts. The shops are also open so it’s a great way to get a feel of life in a Pyreneen town. We’ll be here for lunch, so you can sample what you wish from the stalls or take time out to sit back in a local cafe.

In the afternoon we will go to Aquensis, La Cité des Eaux, (or the city of water) which is completely dedicated to well-being and to the restorative pleasures of natural thermal springs. It hosts a large indoor pool with jet streams and occasional waterfalls, saunas, and a hamman. On the roof is ample sunbathing space, a large glass-floored paddle pool and two jacuzzis.
